Sylvester Copeland already displayed incredible talent at the young age of seven as he played the bass guitar and drums in church. At
seventeen, he was approached to sing with the Gospel quartet, “The
Abbey Family” and did so for two years before going on the
road to play bass and drums for such secular artists as R. Kelly,
E.W.S., and Mint Condition. After two years, he had had enough of
that life and returned to church playing and singing back-up vocals.
On January 18, 2001, Sylvester was involved in a devastating car
wreck that left three of the five passengers dead. Sylvester barely
escaped with his life as the flames left him with second and third
degree burns over 40% of his body and face. Two weeks later he lost
his beloved mother to cancer. Two nieces soon followed in tragic
death. During his painful recovery with skin grafts, rehabilitation
and grief, Sylvester Copeland drew ever closer to Jesus and wrote
the beautiful song “Just to Be Closer.” Realizing that
God had blessed him with a second chance at life, he began to look
for any opportunity to glorify God with his magnificent vocal gift.
He began to be noticed and sing back-up in concert with gospel music
greats like Gary Oliver, Israel Houghton, Vicki Winans, Joe Pace
and Marcus Dawson. Sylvester felt the call of God to minister beyond
music and he began to hunger for a mentor and church home that would
allow him the structure and stability needed to help grow and mature
the other ministry gifts that were beginning to surface. He was
invited to sing at The F.C.I. Now Faith Is Conference
in 2003 and he knew he had found his church home and mentor, Pastor Sally Davis.
There, he also met and recently married his wife, Kelly. Sylvester
has expanded his ministry skills to include teaching Ministry Development
Institute and other classes. He is currently preparing to write
and record his first Gospel Solo project.

Robert Adams started wowing audiences with his charisma and vocal skills in talent
shows when he was a teenager. He felt the call of God and began singing
in church in his early twenties where he met and married his wife, Yolanda Adams. After four years, Robert lost his focus on God
and got caught in the drug nightmare. His wife Yolanda and their children
continued to fast, pray and believe for his deliverance. Her tough
love stance and faith in God finally won out and Robert stopped running
and surrendered to God. He has been a faithful husband, father, business
owner and praise leader for many years now. He served as praise director
at Living Waters Fellowship for seven years and House of Prayer for
almost two years. He is featured on the Gospel Music C.D. “Unshackled
and Getting In the Glory” with Beverly McHenry. His exciting,
enthusiastic style of praise sets the congregation
on fire! He has been a faithful member of Faith Center International
praise team for almost two years and has expanded his ministry skills
to include Salvation and Holy Spirit Ministry, Teaching Leadership
Development Classes, and Ministering Healing, Water Baptisms and Teaching
Membership Classes. This modern day Prodigal son’s life is a
testimony of the restoration love of the Father. Soon Robert Adams
will be a household name. |

Born in Pasadena, TX, Georgetta Burton found a love for music in elementary school where she began singing in school choirs. Feeling a fascination with the piano that sat unused in her home as a child, she began to sit down and attempt playing songs that she heard. She continued to sing with school choirs throughout her high school years, developing an appreciation for classical and choral music, beautiful harmony parts, and theory. She was saved at the age of 13 when invited by a friend to attend a Carmen concert in Beaumont, TX. From that point on, music played a pivotal role in her relationship with God. She found herself never feeling more at home than when she sat down at the piano and played simple songs of worship before God. Baptized in the Holy Ghost at a young age, she began to realize that worship was more than just a passion, but a calling. From the time she was saved, she was privileged to be under the covering of her Pastor, John Osteen., and was blessed to be part of the Lakewood Church choir as a teenager. At the age of 19, she left home to attend Texas Bible Institute in Columbus, TX . It was there, after having the opportunity to really soak, worshipping in the altar, she realized the impact that our worship has on our relationship with God. While at bible school, she met her husband Christopher Burton, her best friend and the love of her life. The two were married in 2004. Soon after graduating from TBI, Georgetta began to write worship songs. Soon after marrying, Georgetta and Christopher began to hunger for the meat of the Word and teaching that would bring about change in their lives. After seeing an FCI billboard, they began visiting and were hooked! They’ve been faithful members ever since. Georgetta joined the praise team in 2006, and her husband serves in the media department. She is also part of the teaching ministry at FCI, which she loves. In processing the grief after the tragic loss of her mom to cancer in November of 2008, and working to conquer a struggle with fear, she hopes to continue to write and record songs that inspire others to worship and overcome. |
